My Favorite Hummus Recipe

1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained, liquid reserved

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 clove garlic, crushed garlic

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon salt 2 drops sesame oil, or to taste (optional)


Blend garbanzo beans, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, salt, and sesame oil in a food processor. While it is blending add reserved bean liquid into the mixture until desired consistency is achieved. The mixture will be warm. If you like it cold, make sure to put it in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving. You can drizzle a little bit of olive oil on top before serving, if desired.

I triple this recipe when I make it for get togethers.
